Q: What types of toys should I get my new puppy?
A: Puppies, just like human babies, have very different mouths in their infancy. To take care of baby teeth and gums, as well as stimulate your pup’s mind, we offer a wide variety of objects to introduce them to the wide and magical world of toys! We carry everything from teething toys to discourage bad habits to stuffed animals that will make them feel cozy and safe. Ask one of our friendly Pet Counselors for their recommendations.
Q: What types of toys are best for kittens?
A:Just like with dogs, toys are a great way to stimulate a kitten’s development of the mind and senses. Many young cats enjoy plush toys (their “prey!”) and lightweight balls. Be certain that toys are large enough that they cannot be inhaled or swallowed by your kitten, and that they do not break apart easily. If they do break, get rid of the toy immediately.
A quick note – don’t teach your kitten to play attack your hand! It’s not nearly as cute – and a lot more painful – when your cat is no longer a kitten.
Q: I’m not sure which dog breed is right for me. Can you help?
A: We’d be happy to! We strongly recommend you do extensive breed research before you decide on a dog, as behavior, grooming, energy levels and more. We suggest you browse the internet (sites like the American Kennel Club and Animal Planet have great information), check out our blog and speak with one of our Pet Counselors to help make your decision.
Q: Where can I learn more about taking care of my new pet?
A: Right here! We encourage you to check out our blog for updates on pet care, trends and more twice a month. You can also stop by or give us a call at (913) 498-9814 to speak with one of our knowledgeable and passionate Pet Counselors!
